The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Web site scooped the award for Best Government/Charity site from the online magazine New Media Age.

It is the most visited of all UK government sites, providing “the equivalent of 60,000 hours of customer service based on a time-cost of 4,000 person hours,” according to The Guardian Online. The site is run by two and a half staff.
