Guidestar, the huge Web resource for nonprofits in the US and internationally, has been awarded over $3.5 million to extend and enhance its information services. Grants have been awarded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Andrew W Mellon Foundation, the Rockerfeller Brothers Fund, and the Philanthropic Collaborative.
GuideStar’s key resource is its information on more than 600,000 US 501(c) (3) nonprofit groups in the US. The information is gathered by GuideStar itself and from the Internal Revenue Service.
