List for volunteer managers

Howard Lake | 18 September 1998 | News

American Philanthropy Review’s CharityChannel lineup of nonprofit/NGO-sector forums has added another e-mail list. CyberVPM is a discussion list for professionals in the field of volunteer program management or those persons interested in the effective management of volunteers. It will be of interest to professional volunteer program managers as well as others who work with volunteers in organisations, volunteer centers, as trainers or consultants, who provide products or services to volunteer programs, etc.

Although it is new to the CharityChannel network of forums, CyberVPM is an established e-mail list. It was created and is owned and moderated by Nan Hawthorne of CyberVPM.com. It has over 500 subscribers. The forum typically carries discussions on topics such as volunteer program development, volunteer recruitment, screening, training and supervision, fostering diversity in programs, risk management issues, professional development and networking, current trends, ethics, standards, strategies and resources.
