We reveal the results of the Skipton Building Society’s fundraising in its efforts to deter carpetbaggers.

In September 1997 UK Fundraising reported on the decision by the Skipton Building Society to require all new investors to donate £25 to the NSPCC as part of their efforts to deter carpetbaggers keen on making a tidy profit should the Building Society demutualise.

The idea has paid off, raising £400,000 for the charity.
