The following organisations provide information and services useful to UK charity fundraisers.

National

• Charities Aid Foundation – training, publishing, consultancy, banking, donor services, with a mission to increase the resources of charities worldwide.
• Charity Commission of England and Wales – furthers the work of charities by giving advice and information and checking abuses. The Commission maintains a public register of charities, investigates misconduct and the abuses of charitable assets, gives advice to charity trustees to make the administration of their charity more effective, and makes Schemes and Orders to modernise the purposes and administrative machinery of charities and to give trustees additional powers.
• The Directory of Social Change – publishing and training for the voluntary sector.
• Help – provides a quick and easy-to-use categorised index of links to helpful Web sites all over the UK, and worldwide. Categories covered include emergency services, hospitals & clinics, the elderly, charities and wildlife.
• Institute of Fundraising – (formerly the Institute of Charity Fundraising Managers), the lead body for the profession of fundraising in the UK. Recognised by the British Government, the Charity Commission of England and Wales and throughout the UK voluntary sector, the Institute’s mission is to promote the highest standards of fundraising practice.
• The National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) ran an online discussion in March and April 1997 focusing on "Can the internet help voluntary organisations to achieve more?" The topics included one on the Internet – a significant fundraising medium? Come and add your voice. (Pun intended – visit the site and you’ll see why).
• Resource Alliance (formerly International Fund Raising Group) provides training in professional and ethical fundraising to non-governmental, non-profit and similar organisations throughout the world. They run the International Fund Raising Workshop. In ten regions of the world, IFRG works closely with local partners to plan and implement annual Fundraising Workshops and they run a series of Fundraising Workshops around the world.

• Brent Voluntary Sector Team
• South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau – The Bureau was established in 1990 to respond to the growing need for specialist advice and information about funding. It operates an information service advising on potential sources of funding, produces information sheets and is involved in other funding information initiatives including Funding Forum and a regular newsletter. The Bureau aims to promote the interests of voluntary and community groups who face particular disadvantage in finding funding.

• Removed 15/4/99: Foremost offer a design and print service exclusively for UK charities and non-profit-making organisations.
• Removed 28/3/2000: They provide free copies of the latest European Commission background reports. They also publish the European Union Grants Directory as a computer disk (available to run on Windows ’9X), together with the European Union Grant Locator© CD-ROM. This provides outline details of the 400 or so grants available from the European Commission (as found on the European Union Grants Directory disk), plus European Union grant details including the official guidance/application notes, full application forms and contact name(s) and addresse(s), and a search facility. Having added an Internet update service in 1997, from January 1998 they updated the site frequently.
