The Dorset Community Foundation is again offering grants of up to £7,500 to charities and community groups in Dorset. This is the fifth round of funding from the Dorset County Community Fund.

It is open to eligible groups in the shire of Dorset, excluding Bournemouth and Poole.

The fund was set up by Dorset County Council to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector and parish and town councils in order to deliver stronger services and support for local communities.

The main fund priorities are:

• Addressing Gaps in Provision
   
• Identifying Community Priorities
   
• Developing Community Assets and well planned services as well as organisational sustainability and understanding of Dorset's civil society.

So far the Fund has granted over £600,000 to over 140 charities and community groups.

Applications for the Dorset County Community Fund close at 1pm on 16 August 2013.
