Collection launched for memorial to Redmond Mullin

Friends of the late Redmond Mullin, one the founders of the Institute of Fundraising, are organising a collection in his memory to enable the Institute to “something new and bold which Redmond would have loved”.
Mullin, who died in October 2011, was described by Mark Astarita, Chair of the Institute, as “a legendary figure in the sector” and one who “leaves a legacy of which he can truly be proud”. For example, he devised the first training programme for fundraisers, and developed the Institute’s annual National Convention.
He was instrumental in the NSPCC’s Centenary Appeal, and its Full Stop Appeal, and was Director of The Charities Aid Foundation. He then went on to run his own consultancy.
The group of friends, who include Giles Pegram, Judith Rich and Sandi Wilson, are also planning to produce a plaque which will feature the names of everyone who donates over £25. It will be mounted in The Institute’s London office reception area.
Cheques for the memorial should be made payable to Institute of Fundraising and sent to Judith Rich at 1 Constable’s Gate, Winchester SO23 8GE. If you wish your name to be included, you should indicate in what form you would like it to appear.
