Organisers Moonlighting (Entertainment and Event Management) Limited hope the challenge will raise £100,000 for the charity.

There are places for just 12 teams and entries close on 30 November.

Neil Townend, MD of Moonlighting (Entertainment and Event Management) Limited said: "The Grad Challenge aims to give graduate scheme employees the opportunity to develop a wide array of skills and gain valuable experience in an ever competitive job market – all whilst raising funds for charity."

Teams will be supported by a designated mentor. They will develop their own fundraising project or event and try to make more money than the other teams.

The competition launches this January and concludes in the summer of 2013 with an awards dinner event in September.

Applications are invited from companies operating a graduate or apprentice scheme within their organisation. Entries this year are limited to just twelve at a cost of £1450 +VAT per team, covering the costs for the launch party, the awards dinner and the winners' prize.

According to Townend, "every penny of the teams’ profit raised will be split between the Children with AIDS Charity and other registered charities chosen by the teams".
