New Head of Development at Girls’ Day School Trust
The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) has appointed Glen Fendley as its new Head of Development. He joins from Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres where he was Capital Fundraising Development Director.
He is co-author of the Institute of Fundraising’s Major Gift Fundraising Code of Practice, and a regular speaker at conferences.
He was previously European Chief Executive of international consultancy Grenzebach Glier, and advised on strategic planning, capital campaign readiness, corporate and major gift fundraising, board development and staff training.
The GDST is the UK’s largest educational charity and is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. It has with nearly 4,000 staff, and 20,000 students between the ages of three and 18. A charity, it owns and runs a network of 24 schools and two academies in England and Wales.
Helen Fraser, the GDST’s Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to welcome Glen to the GDST. He brings nearly twenty years of successful development experience to the GDST, and will help us drive forward our fundraising strategy across the Trust and its 24 schools and two academies.”
