Sue Ryder Care’s Lights of Love is an annual event giving people the chance to make a dedication in honour of a person who is special to them. In addition to attending events, anyone interested in taking part can dedicate a Light of Love to someone they care about online at www.suerydercare.org/lightsoflove and see their loved one’s name appear in an online Book of Remembrance. Or they can request a Lights of Love pack by contacting 0845 0501953. People keen to dedicate a Light of Love will be encouraged to give a donation of their choice to Sue Ryder Care. Everyone making a dedication and a donation will receive a Lights of Love Christmas star on which they can write a personal message before hanging it on their tree at home.

All money raised through the Lights of Love appeal will help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver expert and compassionate care to people living with conditions including Cancer, Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease.

Pam Rhodes, best known for presenting BBC1 ‘Songs of Praise’, is a keen supporter of the charity. “I am delighted to support Sue Ryder Care and Lights of Love. It’s a wonderful way to remember and celebrate the life and most treasured memories of a loved one.

I like the idea of being able to dedicate a special thought to the memory of my mum, who unfortunately passed away last year. She always supported me, was a great listener and had a great sense of humour. Hanging a star on the Christmas tree with a special dedication on the back is a lovely way to remind me of how dearly I love her and miss her.

By taking part in Lights of Love people can help raise vital funds to support Sue Ryder Care to deliver the best level of quality care to people that need it most”.

By supporting appeals such as Lights of Love people can help Sue Ryder Care develop and expand its services to help the thousands of people it cares for every year to access services where they need them most, in their own homes, communities or care centres.
