Futurebuilders England offers £220,000 to small organisations for public sector tendering
Futurebuilders England and the National Programme for Third Sector Commissioning (NPTSC) have launched the Small Organisation Tender Fund. This grant fund is designed to finance tendering costs or capacity building work to help small organisations win specific public sector contracts. This could include legal costs, advice from procurement specialists, financial expertise and bidding staff costs.
Up to £220,000 is available from this fund, £150,000 of which has been contributed by the NPTSC. Grants will be offered for up to 10% of a contract value, up to a maximum of £15,000. Contracts being tendered for must hold a minimum value of £30,000.
For the purposes of this fund, a ‘small organisation’ is defined as one with an annual turnover of less than £250,000. Applicants must also have been trading for a minimum of one year.
Much of the application assessment will be carried out by phone and there is no closing date for applications.
Jonathan Lewis, Chief Executive of Futurebuilders England said: “This new fund offers a great chance for smaller third sector organisations to realise their potential. It is just another way we can assist more organisations, regardless of size or stature, to win public sector contracts and develop long-term sustainability.”
Futurebuilders is planning to launch other initiatives to support the development of small organisations. It already offers a £1 million interest-free, loan-based Tender Fund for larger third sector organisations struggling to meet the costs of tendering for public sector contracts.
