The article includes an interesting example of how Barack Obama nad Hilary Clinton both used Twitter in their recent campaigns and how both were perceived very differently. Barack scores all the point as he ‘listens’ and doesn’t just ‘broadcast’ (sounds a bit trite to me), particularly as it is acknowledged that he can’t possibly listen to the 100,000 people he is following on twitter!
The lesson appears to be two-fold:

- you can’t beat it, so you might as well join it
- When you do join it, just remembr that you have to deliver on new media promises as Generation-Y (or Millennials as they are referred to in the article) don’t accept vacuous comment or empty offers…
