TalkInCompany, the “organisation for former high-flying professional women who have temporarily given it all up to become mothers” as the Financial Times described it last week, is to hold a series of talks on philanthropy this summer.
The organisation already hosts popular speaker meetings which donate 20% of profits to the speaker’s chosen charity. Recent speakers include Rt Hon Ann Widdecombe, MP, Nicola Horlick, Victoria Mather and Keith Abel.
The first Philanthropy Day will be held in Wandsworth, London on 6 June 2008. A Mothers & Daughters’ Day on 21 September will include philanthropy workshops.
The initiative follows sponsorship from Barclays Bank. TalkInCompany’s founder Mark Solon told The Financial Times: “The aim is to make giving easier for people. To invite speakers who have given, organisations who have received and firms with experience in facilitating that giving”.
