Leonard Cheshire launches campaign with Aardman Animations
Leonard Cheshire Disability – which relaunched with a new name and logo in July – has teamed up with Wallace and Grommit creators Aardman Animations for its latest campaign.
The awareness-raising campaign is called Creature Discomforts and is based on the television series Creature Comforts, but features the hallmark plasticine characters with disabilities, combined with the real voices and experiences of disabled people.
The characters, which have been created specifically for Leonard Cheshire, include a Brian the bull terrier, Flash the sausage dog, Slim the stick insect, and Tim the tortoise. The animations are based on the genuine voices of disabled people describing in their own words the negative attitudes and barriers they experience. All the ads are accompanied by Leonard Cheshire’s message change the way you see disability.

The characters will appear in adverts online, in magazines, at bus stops and on the London Underground. From January the ads will also be aired on ITV channels.
