Excel interactive training for serious fundraising analysts
The Institute of Fundraising’s Special Interest Group for Analysis in Fundraising is offering a session on Excel interactive training for those who are serious about fundraising analysis.
These small-group sessions will offer hands-on demonstrations of “some of the more advanced and exciting functions in Excel”. These include how pivot tables, functions, ‘goal seek’ and advanced graphs can make analyses richer and more useful. There will also be a brief introduction to VBA.
The instructors are themselves charity analysts “who will show, tell and share their hard-won skills in Excel.”

The session will be held on 14 May from 10.30 to 13.30 in Central London at Shelter’s offices in Old Street. It will be repeated on 15 May from 09.30 to 12.30.
The event is aimed at those who already have analyst responsibilities in a voluntary organisation and who are ready to move beyond spreadsheet basics.
Delegates are encouraged to bring their own laptop with a current version of Excel on it (but not Excel 2007) so that they can practice during the session.
Places are limited to ten per session and one person per organisation.
The event costs £20 for Institute of Fundraising charity employees who are individual members (membership number required with application) and £40 for non-Institute of Fundraising members. The event is for charities only and not commercial suppliers.
