More free marketing advice for charities from CBA Design
Cambridge-based CBA Design and Marketing will be repeating its offer of free marketing, design and PR advice to UK charities later this year.
In January, CBA Design and Marketing offered five charities the opportunity to take part in a free session to evaluate the effectiveness of their current marketing strategy. Charities were able to look at how to improve their presence in the marketplace and consider design and PR issues and requirements.
UK Fundraising covered the story, and CBA say that the offer was “a great success”. The design and marketing company was “inundated with responses”, and they say they thoroughly enjoyed working with the charities that responded, offering some invaluable advice for free. Charities came from all over the country, and ranged from very small not-for-profit organisations to those with an annual income of over £20 million.

Clive Bennett, Partner at CBA said: “There is obviously a need for this type of advice within the sector, and we have really enjoyed partnering the five charities by giving free advice. The initial free offer to charities was heavily over-subscribed and we had sixty-five responses in total within the first two days.
“We would like to extend the offer to help as many of the other charities that originally responded as we practically can. We also hope to repeat the offer, exclusive to UK Fundraising, later in the year’.
Charlotte Adams from Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre was one of the five charities to benefit from the free advice.
She said: “I would like to thank CBA for so kindly giving up their time this morning. I found the session really helpful and the team has given me lots of ideas. Some of the things suggested backed up my own knowledge, which was reassuring, but CBA had a lot of new information for me and I am very grateful.”
CBA Design has worked with many charities and recently pledged £1,500 to help promote Caring Matters Now, a charity that supports individuals who suffer from Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN). The support involved designing and producing a range of marketing materials to help Caring Matters Now raise money for scientific research into the causes and treatments of CMN.
Bennett added: “We have an excellent track record working with the not-for-profit sector, and are very much looking forward to partnering with more charities and organisations to deliver exceptional marketing and design solutions.”
