Kage Partnership reports average 1% rise in London fundraisers’ salaries

Fundraisers in London last year received an average 1% increase in their salaries, according to the latest annual analysis from recruitment specialists Kage Partnership.
This increase was almost the same as that reported in 2014.
Kage compiled data on over 300 fundraising vacancies registered with them by 120 charities during 2015. Salaries all include London weighting.
Salary increases
There were increases in average salary in seven of their 14 categories of fundraiser, with three seeing no change. Trust Managers enjoyed the largest average increase at 7% followed by Events Officers at 5.5%.
Average salary increases were highest at Manager level across all fundraising disciplines.
Directors or Heads of Fundraising salaries ranged from £45k to £77k with an average of £55k.

More jobs on offer
Kage reports that, like last year, there are more jobs around, so job-seekers have more choice.
While there are more candidates available at Manager level, the agency has noted a shortage of candidates in most Officer level categories.

Recruitment practices
Kage found that recruitment managers at charities are still using salary scales but acknowledge that they may need to appoint at the top of their scale in order to secure an applicant.
They are also keen to interview promptly so as not to lose applicants.
There is still a tendency to only select candidates with not-for-profit experience.
Kage Partnership point out that “as usual, the results are intended as a general guide and are based on advertised rather than actual salaries”.
