How to join in the Future of Fundraising Self-Regulation update event

Howard Lake | 3 December 2015 | News

Do you have contributions to make to this week’s Future of Fundraising Self-Regulation event, but you’re not on the invitation list? There are still ways you can have your voice heard.
On Friday 4 December NCVO will host an event in London at which will be presented an update on developments regarding the regulation of fundraising, together with an outline of the implementation of the recommendations made in this September’s report Regulating Fundraising for the Future.
The event is invitation-only “due to space limitations”, which has led to some criticism from organisations which would like to attend. However, NCVO will broadcast the event live online from 11am – 1pm. UK Fundraising will also broadcast it live, with the link going live on the front page just before the event begins.

How to contribute your views

If you are not in the audience there are two ways in which you can contribute your ideas and thoughts on the proposals regarding self-regulation.
1. Email a question to

te**@nc**.uk

by the end of Thursday 3 December. If you wish it to be asked anonymously you should make that clear in the email.
2. On the day you can tweet your question to @NCVO with the #fundraisingreview hashtag. NCVO staff say they “will try and make sure it is answered”.
NCVO has also committed to publishing a round-up blog post of answers from the panel to the most common questions asked at the event.

Who will be presenting?

NCVO’s agenda for the event states that the two-hour event will feature:
• opening remarks from Sir Stuart Etherington, who chaired the Future of Fundraising Self-Regulation report
• reflections from the Minister for Civil Society, Rob Wilson MP
• Lord Michael Grade, recently announced as the interim Chair of the new fundraising regulatory body, on setting up the new regulator, the Fundraising Preference Service, and on the next steps.
