Fundraisers in fiction

How many fundraisers do you read about in novels? Can you imagine a John Grisham novel about a charity fundraiser or a Barbara Taylor Bradford blockbuster featuring a fundraising events manager?

Perhaps not, but UK Fundraising has found a popular novel featuring a fundraiser.

Turn of the Century by Kurt Andersen (cover)

Kurt Anderson’s Turn of the Century features Lizzie Zimbalist, a former charity fundraiser and now a New York-based games software executive. “This book’s vision of next year will last a good five to seven years. I didn’t want the novel ever to end,” said the New York Times’ reviewer.
