CAF's Allaboutgiving site shut down by surge to donate

Charities Aid Foundation has had temporarily to shut down its allaboutgiving.org site due to the volume of people trying to access it to donate to charities involved in responding to the South Asian floods disaster.
A notice on the front page of the site which promotes tax-efficient giving to charity states:
“The public’s unprecedented response to the Disaster Appeal for South East Asia has led to access difficulties for many people wishing to donate online. We have had to temporarily shut down this particular site. Your donations are critical – please bear with us.”

CAF then suggest alternative methods of making donations – online using a credit or debit card via givenow.org, directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee at dec.org.uk, or by cheque or CAF charity account cheque through the post.
