Corporate giving by FTSE 100 increases to £818.15m
The Guardian’s third annual Giving List, published today, reports that companies in the FTSE 100 increased their giving during 2001-2002 to £818.15m, a rise of nearly one third.
Cash grants are still the most popular form of corporate support at £637.3m, but employee volunteering more than doubled in terms of the value given in company time, to £90.7m.
Overall the top 100 companies gave 0.8% of their pre-tax profits to good causes, a rise of nearly 2.5 times the amount given in 2000-2001.
