Record year for ChildLine in London Marathon

Howard Lake | 22 June 2003 | News

ChildLine has raised more than £300,000 this year from the London Marathon, more than in any previous year.

More than 250 runners including a 70-strong team from Marks & Spencer, ChildLine’s marathon team sponsor, ran the Flora 2003 London Marathon for ChildLine. They included 80 runners who ran under the Golden Bond scheme and pledged to raise at least £2000 each.

The Marks & Spencer team were challenged to raise at least £1,000 and the company pledged to match sponsorship pound for pound. The company gave ChildLine space on its pre-race exhibition stand, and supported all ChildLine’s runners on the day with branded running vests and post-race refreshments and toiletries.
