Tesco shoppers raise £130,000 for Alzheimer’s charities simply by withdrawing cash.

Tesco shoppers have raised £130,000 for Alzheimer’s charities in just four months simply by withdrawing money at Tesco Personal Finance cash machines in stores. Every time a cash withdrawal is made Tesco Personal Finance donates 1p to the Tesco Charities of the Year – the Alzheimer Society and Alzheimer’s Scotland. There is no cost to the customer as cash withdrawals are free.

Now the financial services arm of the supermarket has set a target to increase this to £250,000 by Christmas.
