US women outnumber men as Net users

MediaMetrix and Jupiter Communications report that, for the first time in the USA, more women than men are using the Internet. Girls aged 12-17 and women over 55 represented the most rapidly expanding age ranges, with the result that women now accounted for 50.5% of Internet users in May 2000.
