CAF studies Indian philanthropy

Howard Lake | 16 June 2000 | News

Charities Aid Foundation India is undertaking a major study into indigenous philanthropy in India. It will analyse a range of reasons for giving outside of the “formal” voluntary sector, and look at what it needed to support structured giving.

The research follows a sminar held in New Delhi which looked at tapping the potential of the Indian diaspora for the voluntary sector. For example, there are an estimated 40,000 millionaires of Indian origin living in the USA.
