Run South London: new Merton half marathon partners with JustGiving
JustGiving has announced a partnership with Run South London, a new closed-road half marathon starting in the London Borough of Merton on 14 March 2027, and has announced charity packages to accompany it.
Run South London is being developed by Merton Council in partnership with The Great Run Company, the organisation behind the Great North Run and the Great Manchester Run. The route will take runners past some of the capital’s best-known sporting landmarks and green spaces, and organisers expect the event to attract “thousands of runners from across the UK”.
Through the partnership with JustGiving runners will be able to create their fundraising page as part of registration. Charities that sign up to the new packages will be able to feature in Run South London’s email communications, appear on the official event website, take part in the charity village on race day, and access a limited number of premium opportunities.

Councillor Ross Garrod, Leader of Merton Council, said:
“We’re excited to be launching Run South London as part of our ambition to become London’s very first Borough of Sport. Putting on our very own major mass-participation run here in Merton will not only help people to get active, but will also help charities of all sizes by providing a great opportunity for them to raise money and awareness for their causes.
“Run South London is set to showcase the power of sport in bringing communities together, helping people live active and healthy lives, and creating a lasting legacy which extends beyond race day by helping charities champion the important work they do.”
