The Wolfson Foundation has announced a new £2 million fund to support previous grant holders to become more energy efficient.

The Wolfson Sustainability Fund is designed to support organisations to improve the environmental and financial sustainability of their buildings. It will provide grants of up to £50,000 for refurbishment, maintenance works and equipment that have environmental benefits.

This could include installing solar panels, heat pumps, green roofs, energy-efficient glazing, boilers or LED lighting.

The fund is open to a range of organisations that have previously received Wolfson funding, at any point in time. The funding is provided in addition to the Foundation’s existing programmes of support.

Charities working with disability, mental health or older people; hospices and palliative care organisations; historic buildings and landscapes; libraries and archives; museums and galleries and performing arts organisations are all eligible to apply.

Applications to the first round of the fund will open on Wednesday 30 March 2022 and will close on Monday 25 April at 5pm. A second round will open in autumn 2022.
