Lords Select Committee to question Charity Commission

The House of Lords Select Committee on Charities will hold its first evidence session this afternoon. The Committee was set up to investigate the sustainability and governance of the charity sector.
At its first evidence session for its inquiry the Committee will hear from Paula Sussex, Chief Executive, and Sarah Atkinson, Director of Policy and Communications, at the Charity Commission.
The Commission will be questioned on issues such as its role and priorities, the relationship it has with the Government, its role in advising on legislation and lobbying, and how it supports the charity sector.
The evidence session will start at 4pm and will be broadcast live on Parliament Live.
Appointed on 25 May 2016, the Select Committee on Charities is chaired by Baroness Pitkeathley.
