Catherine Miles has been appointed as Director of Fundraising at Breast Cancer Now, the research charity formed last year from the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
She joins after seven years at Anthony Nolan. As Director of Fundraising there, she helped triple net income, created and built a regular giving programme, secure major partnerships such as the Official Charity partner of the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon, and implemented a relationship fundraising approach.
Before that she worked at Shelter as Deputy Director of Fundraising and Head of Major Gifts, and at Mencap as Head of Grants Fundraising.
She will take up her role at Breast Cancer Now next month. Miles said:

“I’m very much looking forward to working with the exceptional team to take the charity’s fundraising and influencing to the next level. Breast Cancer Now’s ambition is ultimately to fund the research that will finally stop women dying from breast cancer, and we’ll need everyone’s support to help us get there.”

She is a regular presenter at national and regional fundraising conferences and was part of the steering group for the Institute of Fundraising and GoodValues’ 2012 report into major gift fundraising practice.
