INTASAVE Oceans uses Tweet to Donate to help save the seas

In the run up to World Oceans Day on 8th June, INTASAVE Oceans has launched a Twitter campaign using the new Tweet to Donate function to help it raise more donations.
The #HealthySeas campaign is in collaboration with CARIBSAVE and aims to raise funds to help the charity’s work in promoting healthy marine ecosystems and its restoration projects to protect vulnerable coastlines and increase their resilience to climate change.
The Twitter campaign works by making it possible for supporters to donate by tweeting the twitter handle and hashtag and then confirming with a retweet. Supporters can make a donation of £5 by sending a tweet which includes the terms @intasaveoceans #HealthySeas. This initiates a link with Paypal/Twitter and a reply tweet requesting a retweet to confirm the donation.
In addition, through the INTASAVE Oceans website people can donate to support specific programmes, such as “Adopt a Parrot Fish,” and “Adopt a Coral Nursery,” or marine sanctuaries and sustainable fishing programmes. Supporters can also choose to make a one-off donation to the ongoing work of the charity’s “Healthy Seas, Happy People” campaign.
Julie Howard of INTASAVE Oceans said:

“Our new #HealthySeas campaign via Twitter is another facet to our major fundraising efforts and will help to make a real difference to these vulnerable ecosystems.”
