Jewson offers £250,000 to improve local communities

Melanie May | 15 April 2016 | News

Jewson is seeking nominations for its Building Better Communities programme.
The programme offers financial support to transform community buildings or areas such as playgrounds, sports changing rooms, or community centres.
The deadline for entries is 29th April, with shortlisting taking place between 30th April and 15th May. Shortlisted projects will then be announced with communities asked to raise votes to see their projects funded.
Regional winners will receive support of between £500 and £10,000, with the overall winning ‘My Comfort’ project receiving £150,000.
Last year’s awards saw the Penlee Lifeboat Appeal win the grand prize of £50,000 to build a new two-storey lifeboat station giving space for a crew training room, larger changing facilities and a visitor attraction centre.
