British Red Cross and Aviva launch three-year partnership

Aviva has joined the British Red Cross’s Disaster Relief Alliance in a three-year partnership with the charity that will see the two working together to help communities around the world prepare for and respond to disasters.
As a member of the alliance, Aviva will help fund investment in four key areas of Red Cross work globally and in the UK: preparedness, response, recovery, and innovation. Aviva will share its risk management knowledge with the charity and raise funds to help it continue its work in helping communities prepare for disasters, as well as its long-term reconstruction recovery programmes.
Aviva employees around the world will also be encouraged to donate funds during large-scale emergencies, with Aviva to match employee donations during the partnership.
British Red Cross director of fundraising, Mark Astarita said:

“These vital funds will allow us to continue helping people prepare and respond to disaster, adapt to climate change and anticipate the issues they face today, before they become greater problems tomorrow.”

Last year the Red Cross and Aviva announced Aviva’ s support of the charity’s free emergency app, which provides real time alerts and advice if there is a risk of severe weather or other emergencies.
