International fashion donation gets through to Oxfam
International couriers ParcelHero.com lived up to their name for Cardiff’s specialist Oxfam Boutique when they stepped in to donate international shipping for a particular valuable donation.
The shop had been offered a collection of leading French designers’ clothing from a French fashion enthusiast and keen Oxfam supporter from Nantes, France. The collection includes dresses by Kenzo and Chacok as well as other Parisian fashion houses. However, the cost of shipping the clothes was prohibitive for the charity shop.
Fortunately, ParcelHero.com stopped in to ship the dresses free of charge.

Boutique manager Claire Samuel is planning to stage a fashion auction to showcase the clothes. She said:
“It’s fantastic, I tried for two weeks to find a way that we would be able to obtain the collection within our small budget. I even considered hiring a van and driving the 608 mile round trip, which would have been a 20-hour drive, again too costly. It was such a relief when ParcelHero offered to transport the generous donor’s collection for no charge. Now we can organise a charity auction event to raise as much as possible for Oxfam.”
ParcelHero’s MD, Roger Sumner-Rivers, explained:
“When we heard about Claire’s problem we were only too pleased to come to her aid. We deliver to over 220 countries across the world, and it made sense to make use of our service and ensure the full value of this incredibly generous donation goes to Oxfam’s life-saving projects.”
Why Nantes and Cardiff? The cities are twinned and have close links. As a result, the donor has visited the Welsh capital many times.
