Day one at the National Convention 2014

This week saw the three-day Institute of Fundraising National Convention take place in London. The biggest event for fundraisers in Europe, according to the Institute, was packed with fundraisers and fundraising suppliers (it sold out), and with inspiring and practical sessions and presentations.
Here is my attempt to present a flavour of the first day, combining content from speakers, delegates and others. It is the first of three daily summaries which I am still adding to as I come across more useful content, so expect these reports to be expanded further over the next few days.
