Charities to raise funds by switching their corporate mobile phone contract

Howard Lake | 9 September 2013 | News

Donate Mobile is urging charities to switch their mobile phone contracts both to reduce their costs and raise funds. The charity sector mobile provider will donate 10% of a charity's mobile spend to their charity.

The provision of business mobile phones and contracts adds to Donate Mobile's services. The company launched in February 2013, providing a way for UK charity supporters to raise funds for their charity from their monthly mobile bill at no extra cost to themselves.

It estimates that a charity with 20 employees using company phones could raise a minimum of £1,440 over the length of a 24-month contract, on top of any savings.

Mark Brunwin, Managing Director of Donate Mobile, explained: “We know what the big two challenges are facing charities right now – cutting costs and raising funds. Through our company mobile phone service, charities can tackle both. We welcome the chance to show any UK charity how much we can reduce their mobile phone bill by and how much they can raise in donations at the same time.”

He added that one animal charity with just 20 handsets had shared their mobile bill in confidence with Donate Mobile and they had discovered a potential annual saving of £6,000.
