The Institute of Fundraising will next year run a three-day residential course for major donor fundraisers. The inaugural course, developed with fundraising consultants More Partnership, will take place in February 2014.

The course was developed in response to results from a survey by the Institute of over 100 major donor fundraisers.

Paul Marvell, Director of Professional Development and Membership at the IoF, said: “The Major Donor Residential will be a unique learning experience that will transform the performance of major donor fundraising in the sector. Its unique style and small group format means that it is suitable for both newcomers to major donor fundraising and those experienced fundraisers who need to brush up on their existing major donor fundraising skills.”

Rebecca Rendle, Managing Partner of More Partnership, added: “We have seen first hand that equipping major donor fundraisers and their organisations with the right tools, techniques and knowledge often makes the difference in whether or not they are able to secure those large gifts.”

Fundraisers at smaller charities will be able to apply for bursaries and scholarships which are funded by the Redmund Mullin Fund.

The Major Donor residential course will take place from 4 to 6 February 2014 at Warwick University. Fees start at £1,200 for Institute members, with some discounts for three or more bookings from the same charity.
