Whether you are attending National Convention this week in person or watching from afar, you can follow some of the discussions, resources quoted, and lessons learned via Twitter.

As well as following @natconvention, the Twitter account for the annual event run by the Institute of Fundraising, there are also some hashtags to follow, enabling you to keep up to date with the event without the need to know which individuals are tweeting about it.

IoF hashtags

The Institute is using three hashtags:

1. #iofnc – the main Convention hashtag, covering all activities over the three days

2. #ioftechlab – discussions and tips from JustGiving and its tech guests on all elements of digital fundraising

3. There is more than one #membear to look out for too.

Other hashtags

Some speakers are promoting their event via hashtags.

Polly Gowers OBE, CEO of Give as you Live, is using #futureoffundraising to highlight her talk on Monday afternoon on the Future of Fundraising.

BeInspired Films will be reporting from the convention using #conventiontv.

This year there are likely to be event more tweets thanks to some improved wifi at the Hilton Metropole. Also, we can look forward to more detailed analysis of how social media is used during Convention, courtesy of Atlantic Technologies. There will probably be a few more hashtags being used to discuss the Convention. If you spot one, do share it in a comment below.
