Homeless people present the weather forecast on TV

Howard Lake | 4 February 2013 | News

A Romanian weather forecast is presented by a homeless man. The weather is explained from his perspective and that of other people sleeping rough.

The idea, featured on Osocio, originated with Saatchi & Saatchi Berlin but has spread to various countries including Romania, Germany, Russia and soon Switzerland. In each country a homelessness charity is involved in the campaign.

At the end of the forecast the presenter asks viewers to donate to the charity.

It’s a striking idea that brings an issue home to viewers in a novel way. How do you communicate the reality of life on the streets? Let one person explain it in a very powerful way into thousands of warm homes, where people will notice the change to the otherwise similar daily weather forecast.
