Employees at facility services company ISS UK have again chosen the British Heart Foundation as the company’s corporate charity. The charity was selected via the company’s ‘Our People’ employee engagement survey.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) was the company’s first corporate charity when it was selected in 2010. The employee vote extends the partnership for a further two years.

Fundraising for the charity has included the ISS UK Operational Management Board’s ‘step challenge’ which raises awareness of the importance of walking 10,000 paces every day. In total staff have now raised £200,000 for the BHF in the past two years. The company has also made stock donations to the charity.

ISS UK CEO, Richard Sykes said: “We saw it as very important to give our staff the opportunity to vote for their choice of charity. A very structured approach resulted in staff members being able to choose from four charities, all of which fitted with ISS UK’s objectives of supporting young people into work and ensuring our staff were provided with information and activities to lead active and healthy lifestyles”.
