Zipcar offers £1000 and volunteers in Facebook charity vote

Car-sharing service Zipcar UK is running a Facebook competition, offering “£1,000, a team of volunteers and unlimited free driving” to local groups to implement a community project. This could range from setting up a campaign to clean up a local park, taking young community members with disabilities on a field trip, or performing a play with local children.
Zipcar’s Big Hand app on their Facebook page is accepting entries, which are being voted on. The project that receives the most votes wins. Ideas for projects must benefit their local community and reflect “Zipcar’s mission statement of enabling simple and responsible urban living”.
As well as handling pitches for ideas, the app also lets people volunteer to help a project, or simply to share the project with their friends.
The project must take place within a city served by Zipcar UK. These are London, Oxford, Bristol, Cambridge and Maidstone.
Entries must be posted by 18 June 2012.
