Institute publishes free guide to managing fundraisers
The Institute of Fundraising has published a free guide to managing fundraisers, covering recruiting, developing and retaining talented fundraisers.
Funded by the Office for Civil Society, the guide is designed to provide advice, tools, techniques and templates to enable charity managers to implement best practice within their organisation.
It has been developed following feedback from some Institute members who said that the fundraising function is often misunderstood at organisational level and that, consequently, fundraisers often feel under-valued or inadequately managed. It has been edited by the Learning team at the Institute with input from fundraising practitioners, recruiters and HR professionals.
It offers a tool therefore both for individual fundraisers to help their organisations develop best practice in fundraising management, and for organisations to ensure that they attract and retain their fundraising staff better.
