Atlantic Philanthropies makes Irish grants worth over €5 million

Atlantic Philanthropies has made grants of €5,269,386 (£4.6 million) in 2011 to organisations in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The largest grant went to the Gay and Lesbian Network in the Irish Republic which received €1.2 million. The same organisation got a grant of €218,000
in 2010.
The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland received the largest grant total in 2011 with three grants adding up to €2.2 million (£1.9 million). The grants were provided to influence public policy, ‘global learning and exchange programme’ and to promote a rights based approach to community development.
The Northern Ireland Council for Vountary Action (NICVA) received two grants totalling over €700,000 (£635,000).
Atlantic make grants through its Ageing, Children & Youth, Population Health and Reconciliation & Human Rights Programmes. Atlantic also makes Founding Chairman grants. As well as Ireland, Atlantic is active in South Africa, the United States and Viet Nam.
In 2010 it made grants of nearly €6.6 million in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
