Norwood has appointed Yonni Abramson as its new YN Patronage Chair, as part of a continuing effort to attract younger donors to the Charity. As part of his role, he will be responsible for organising various networking opportunities for Norwood’s young patrons. These include a special cocktail party for YN Patrons, which this year takes place on Tuesday, 25 October at the Audi quattro rooms in Piccadilly, and will be attended by special guest speaker Alan Yentob, Creative Director of the BBC. Yonni will also be responsible for helping to develop the YN Major Donor programme, working both with existing YN Major Donors as well as with potential future supporters.
Yonni, a Partner at charity property specialists Third Sector, first became involved with Norwood after moving to London from Manchester five years ago. He has since attended and number of Norwood events and has been a member of the YN Property Committee since 2009. He replaces Simon Deen and Ross Freedman, who completed their two year tenures earlier this year.
Following his appointment as YN Patronage Chair, he said: “I have always been impressed at how the young professional community in London recognises the importance of their contribution to the charity sector. In light of recent government cuts, it is vital that YN continues to help sustain Norwood’s vital services.”
Adele Breslauer, Norwood’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We are delighted to announce Yonni as our new YN Patronage Chair. His passion and commitment as a member of the YN Property Committee has been tremendous and I know that he will work hard towards establishing the future of Norwood patronage.”
YN also offers professional and social networking events to young people aged between 21 and 35 and has many committees that fundraise on behalf of Norwood including YN Business, Finance and Entrepreneurs; YN Lawyers, YN Current Affairs; YN Property; YN Sport and YN Media.
