Museum of London uses NFC for information and purchases

Howard Lake | 14 October 2011 | News

The Museum of London is one of the first public organisations in the UK to use NFC (Near Field Communications). By tapping their phone near to an exhibit they can receive information on their phone faster than with Bluetooth or QR codes.
In addition, according to Springwise.com, “by tapping their phone on sensor tags around the museums users are able to access vouchers for the museums’ shops and cafés, book tickets for future exhibitions, receive more information about exhibits, join the Museum’s Friends scheme, and buy prints.” So the system has considerable income generation potential.
