Crisis chooses panto theme for Christmas e-card corporate appeal

This year’s Christmas e-card campaign from homeless charity Crisis will feature a celebrity-packed pantomime theme, as it aims to raise over £650,000 from corporate supporters in the City of London.
Developed by creative agency Knifedge, the campaign appears in Crisis’ 40th year.
The campaign will feature celebrities including Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, entertainer Matthew Kelly, presenter and actor Joe Swash, Big Brother star Nasty Nick, ‘voice of the X-Factor’ Peter Dickson and boy band Blue.
The celebrities have been filmed in traditional pantomime roles to feature in short, entertaining scenes from Jack and the Beanstalk, set against the backdrop of a cut-out Victorian theatre. The script for the show has been written by Chris Jarvis, pantomime professional and CBeebies presenter and Ian Stone, standup comedian.
Companies who wish to support Crisis buy the e-cards and then upload mailing lists so that they can deliver personalised e-tickets to their clients, staff or contacts. These invite them to visit a microsite and to watch the celebrities in action.
Last year’s Crisis e-card campaign at Christmas, also designed by Knifedge, won several charity and creative awards, including Best Use of E-Media at the Institute of Fundraising Awards. It featured comedians such as Alan Carr and Steve Pemberton popping out of rattling crackers to tell traditional Christmas jokes.
