Alan Bird joins Clayton Burnett as General Manager

Howard Lake | 2 February 2011 | News

Clayton Burnett, the consultancy established last year by Alan Clayton and Ken Burnett, has appointed Alan Bird as General Manager.
Bird will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, including sales and new business development, as well as being the key account manager for all Clayton Burnett clients, activities and events. Bird previously worked as Director of Marketing, Communications and Events at the Resource Alliance, where he managed the team that ran the International Fundraising Congress (IFC), The International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation (IWRM), and the virtual event Fundraising Online.
Alan Clayton, founding partner of Clayton Burnett said: ‘Our clients are real doers.  So, it made sense to match them by recruiting Alan, with his reputation of getting things done, in time, to a high standard.”
Alan Bird said: “I’ve been completely sold by the vision Alan and Ken have of the crucial role that creativity and motivation have to play in the voluntary sector and have been bowled over by the testimony of attendees who have attended their laboratories and seminars”.
He added that he saw his role as trying to “bring order where there is chaos and try and corral the whirlwind of crazy ideas and creativity generated by Alan and Ken into yet more successful events, coaching, consultancy and training opportunities”.
