Barnardos launches tax reclaim appeal

Howard Lake | 7 May 2010 | News

Barnardo’s in Ireland has launched a ‘Tax Back Appeal’ to claim up to €750,000 from donations made over the last four years. It is inviting donors who gave €250 or more in 2006, 2007, 2008, or 2009 to fill tax reclaim forms.
The charity says that under the Government’s Tax Effective Giving Scheme donations of €250 or more in the year could be worth up to 72% more to their work with children in Ireland.
In common with other Irish charities Barnardo’s is under pressure financially and sees growth in tax reclaims as an important revenue stream.
As well as one off donations, donations made cumulatively of €250 or more, a direct debit or standing order of €21 a month or 5 donations of €50 in one year are eligible for tax reclaim.
