Fundraising for Hft with one hour on the fourth plinth

Howard Lake | 30 June 2009 | News

Architect Tim Bushe of Highbury, London, will form a “living monument” on behalf of Hft, the national charity for people with learning disabilities and their families, when he takes his place on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square on 16 July at 4pm.

Mr Bushe is one of the first 615 individuals chosen to participate in Antony Gormley’s One & Other project. He plans to use his hour on the plinth to make a continuous 360 degree drawing of Trafalgar Square from inside a Perspex drum which he will later auction on ebay for Hft.

Bushe chose to dedicate his hour on the plinth to Hft and to raise money for the charity because of the support it has given to his youngest sister, Martha, and to hundreds of other people with learning disabilities and their families throughout the country.

Bushe has raised over £400 towards his £2,000 target for the charity via his Justgiving page, helped with public support from Hft patron TV presenter Griff Rhys Jones.
