£500,000 fund for Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch groups

Howard Lake | 18 June 2009 | News

The Home Office has announced a new £500,000 fund for Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch groups.

The Neighbourhood and Home Watch Fund will make grants of between £1,000 and £50,000 to help Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes to reach more people in helping them to secure their homes, warn them about crime in their area and take action to prevent it, and know how to prevent distraction burglary.

The fund is being managed on behalf of the Home Office by Tribal’s Community Development Team.

As well as this fund, there is also the Safer Homes Fund. This is a £6 million programme
for voluntary and community sector organisations designed to help them offer support to improve home security for people who live in areas disproportionately affected by crime and who are known to have lower rates of home security.
