iT4Communities (iT4C) is inviting nominations from UK charities and IT volunteers for its 2008 National IT Volunteering Awards.
The Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the UK’s best and most successful IT volunteering projects. They are supported by the British Computer Society and appiChar, the not for profit sector IT consultancy.
The winning charities will each get a £500 prize as well as national recognition for IT excellence.
There are four categories:
* Best IT Volunteer
* Best IT Volunteering Project – Impact on Organisations
* Best IT Volunteering Project – Innovation
* Best Accessible IT Volunteering Project
This is the third annual awards and the winners last year included a social networking internet site for people with mental health problems for Sevenoaks Area Mind and a secure online meeting space for staff of Halifax charity, 1Voice.
Nominations close on 19 December 2008.
